Washington’s Crossing:
The Rest of the Story

Sunday, November 11th, 2018, 12:30-2:30PM

The world-renowned painting — Washington’s Crossing Christmas 1776 by Emanuel Leutze — could not have done better at capturing the spirit of 1776. BUT, how did the cannons, horses, and wagons get across the Delaware on that fateful night?

Come join your neighbors to hear the answer! We’ll also examine the value and limitations of paintings in understanding history, and we’ll discuss the operation of river ferries.

The Washington Crossing Park Association of New Jersey (WCPA) hosts occasional events to raise funds for the Park we love. We also support the Park by managing its Meetup Page, which contains a detailed listing of Park events
